Tooth Extraction
Gentle removal of a severely damaged, decayed or wisdom tooth — including surgical wisdom tooth surgery — with careful pain control.
What is it?
When a tooth is too damaged to save, removing it protects the rest of your mouth. Simple extractions loosen and lift an accessible tooth. Surgical extractions involve a small incision for broken or deeply-rooted teeth, such as impacted wisdom teeth. For bleeding emergencies we also provide post-extraction bleeding management.
Who may need it
- Patients with unrestorable decay or damage
- Impacted or painful wisdom teeth
- Teeth causing crowding or repeated infection
Benefits
- Stops pain and infection at the source
- Prevents damage to neighbouring teeth
- Modern anaesthesia makes it very tolerable
Process
Duration
15–30 minutes for simple; 30–60 minutes for surgical
Aftercare
Bite on the gauze for 30–45 minutes. Do not spit or use a straw for 24 hours. Soft food today, then resume normal brushing gently around the area.
