The AI bubble will burst when hype replaces common sense.

The AI bubble will burst when hype replaces common sense.

Every seminar, meeting, and symposium now discusses AI as if one autonomous agent can replace an entire company by next Monday.

After enough slides, even the audience starts believing it.

A simple analogy: imagine a hospital deciding that specialist doctors can do everything. So it removes the nurses, medical assistants, pharmacists, receptionists, cleaners, security guards, and support staff.

It sounds impressive during a seminar.

It becomes a disaster when the hospital actually needs to operate.

The same thing is happening with AI.

Some companies rushed to replace people with autonomous agents, only to face hallucinations, weak guardrails, uncontrolled token costs, inconsistent results, and eventually the quiet rehiring of the same positions.

I prefer a detached system.

AI helps build the system. Fixed rules handle repeatable processes. Humans remain involved for control, judgment, and accountability.

Our Bank Statement Reconciliation System follows this approach: less hype, lower cost, repeatable results, and people still in the loop.

AI should strengthen an organisation, not remove the common sense required to run it.
